Praised by the Washington Post for her "sensitive and sparkling" performances, Greek-American mezzo-soprano Alexandra Christoforakis is equally at home in operatic, oratorio, and concert repertoire. Ms. Christoforakis enjoys bringing her celebrated performances to performance venues throughout the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Engagements in the 2025/26 season include singing the role of Susanna Walcott in The Crucible with Washington National Opera. She will also return as a Chorister in their production of Aida and 70th Anniversary Gala. Ms. Christoforakis also makes her role debut with Washington Concert Opera singing the role of Une prêtresse in

Engagements in the 2023/24 season include a return Washington National Opera in Romeo and Juliet and Turandot (Ancella/Fantasma) and a return to Washington Concert Opera in Ermione. Ms. Christoforakis also performed as a soloist with the Saint Lawrence Concert Series singing excerpts from Handel’s Messiah.

On the concert stage, Ms. Christoforakis has appeared The City Choir of Washington on multiple occasions, performing as a soloist in Mozart's Requiem, Bruckner's Mass in F Minor, Haydn's Missa in Tempore Belli, and Handel's Coronation Anthems and Dettingen Te Deum. She has also performed as a soloist with the Cathedral Choral Society in Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass and Mozart's Requiem. Ms. Christoforakis has also joined the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra as a soloist in Mozart's Requiem and the Shenandoah Conservatory Symphony Orchestra as a soloist in Mahler's Das Lied von Erde.

Ms. Christoforakis is a former Young Artist with The City Choir of Washington, the Pine Mountain Music Festival, the Opera and Music Theatre Festival of Lucca, and the Bay View Music Festival. She holds a Master of Music from the University of Maryland (Maryland Opera Studio) and received a Bachelor of Music cum laude from New York University.
